Haxtun is located in Phillips County along with the neighboring towns of Paoli and Holyoke. Haxtun is surrounded by vast farmlands that produce wheat, corn, and other crops that are integral to the local economy. A 9-hole golf course is only a few miles from town and brings large crowds for tournaments every summer.
